Growing the African Beer Industry
21-22 April 2023
Cape Town, South Africa

Craft Brewers Powwow is now BeerEx Africa

The Craft Brewers Powwow is now BeerEx Africa. Launched in 2016, the Craft Brewers Powwow was established to help boost South Africa’s burgeoning beer culture. The conference has hosted a number of high-profile speakers from around the world, as well as local experts giving an African perspective on beer innovations and trends. The expo showcases innovative products from local companies alongside major international suppliers.

It is also held in conjunction with the African Beer Cup, the biggest beer competition in Africa, attracting more than 250 entries from across the continent. Following five successful editions of the conference, it is time to expand, and progress is only possible with change. So we are bringing new ideas, new concepts and expanding our team to include South Africa’s premier beer writer and Africa’s first Advanced Cicerone, Lucy Corne.

About BeerEx and what to expect
BeerExpansion
The conference will feature more speakers – both local and international – than ever before. Tandem talks on everything from personal journeys and beer tastings to the latest technical topics will ensure that people from all corners of the beerosphere are catered for, from casual beer enthusiasts through to experienced, professional brewers.
BeerExtension
This isn’t BeerEx South Africa; it is BeerEx Africa and we welcome and look forward to greater participation from brewers across the continent – not just as delegates, but also as speakers, exhibitors and of course, as entrants in the annual African Beer Cup.
BeerExperience
With more interactive demos and a wider range of exhibitors, the expo will also be bigger than ever. Expect homebrewing workshops, social media competitions, packaging and pouring demos, meet the brewer moments, book signings and of course, plenty of beer tastings.
BeerInExpensive
We’re managing ticket prices to keep BeerEx affordable and accessible to everyone with an interest in beer. Day tickets will be available for those wanting to attend just one session, while weekend combo passes will offer discounted deals to those joining for both Friday and Saturday.

BeerEx Africa is a two-day conference and expo dedicated to the world’s most popular alcoholic beverage: beer!
